OK GUYS I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION FOR A 1984 MUSTANG 5.0 THAT A BUDDY OF MINE HAS. OK THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED AT AN AUCTION MY BUDDY TOLD ME THAT HE WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED FOR A LONG TIME. WHEN WE STARTED THE CAR IT SOUNDED GREAT LOTS OF POWER WE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE OIL AND FILTER BUT WE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS TINY METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL COULD IT BE THAT THE PISTON CYLINDERS WERE SCRAPPED WHEN THE CAR WAS STARTED ? OH AND ANOTHER THING IT WAS TROWING OUT LOTS OF BLUE SMOKE WE HAVE NOT CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS YET AND IT DOES HAS OLD GAS IN THE TANK.
ANY SUGGESTIONS.

What kinda oil pressure does the gauge show?

Does it show good pressure at a cold startup and then drop as it warms up?

Sounds like it's time for a crash course in motor rebuilding to me!

WELL THE OIL PRESURE IS GOOD I REMOVED THE SPARK PLUGS AND THEY WERE COATED WITH BLACK RECEDUE THE SPARK PLUGS WERE SPLIT 4 BOSH SPARK PLUGS

I'd suspect the valve guides were bad in the heads.

You got a compression tester?

Try a quart or whatever they come in of "Restore" added to the oil.

Throw a set of Autolite 24's spark plugs to it, and see what that Restore does for it. I think that's the right plug.

EDIT: Looks like Vetteklr chimed in with the responce I was gonna give you.

Autolite 25's. yeah, that's them.

You can tell who's stuck in nitrous mode around here, huh!
