ceramic coatings

in my 388 i am considering coating the pistons and the combustion chambers. has anyone done this before? is it worth it if so what are your comments?

i am not sure about 4-stroke internals, but on the headers, you are looking at about a 1-2% gain. (from my experience)
with 2 stroke internals, we gained 12 hp by coating the piston tops with ceramic, and the skirts with teflon. that was on a 300 hp 2.5 liter drag motor, so it added about 4% that was running the same fuel/air ratio. after tuning (ceramic adds heat resistance, so you can go a little leaner= MORE POWER) we had picked up 35 hp@ the propshaft total

ive heard that ceramic coatings are somewhat costly. any idea on how much it might cost to do a chevy small block???
