Stock clutch burning out after 60k on 97 firehawk lt1. I do a little drag racing mostly just daily driving. No power adders to engine just SLP stock lt1. Two part question. Do I need to replace all clutch parts? Is it worth the money to upgrade from stock? Please give me your opions. Thanks! Jeffo

How about your driving technique? Sorry, but that's all the suggestions I got.

If your clutch is slipping then you definitely need to upgrade and yes its worth the money.

You'll want to replace the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Centerforce makes good ones.

i have to agree with evil..You should replace all parts to avoid premature failure of new clutch. This also keeps you from having to go back and take the trans again,
