Working on a '96 S-10 with a 2.2 4 cyl . Can a 2000 model 2.2 be swapped in without changing any wiring or computer ?

I don't think so. They made some changes around 98. Not sure on the extent of things, but I'm pretty sure it won't.

Search the 2.2 forum at s10forum.com and I'm sure you'll find something...

we are now. 383 XE292 cam, Perf RPM intake, Hedman 1 3/4" headers, 750 Edlebrock carb etc etc etc
