Attention in Half the Pits...

Well, Amarillo Dragway is finally opening it's doors with a new owner.

Bad news for the locals...The dude's lost his mind. He's shutting off the last half of the track and making it an 1/8th mile strip. There was a banquet for all of last season's winners last weekend. Rumor has it, that when the new guy revealed his plans, a lot of the points champions got up and left the banquet.

Friends, Oklahomans, Country Messicans, lend me your ear.
Call the track @ (806) 622-2010 and leave your name and what you think of an 1/8th mile track on their machine. He's got plans to open the track up Friday, April 30th. Hopefully, by then, he'll see the light.

p.s. G-Monkey's #1 spot was marked for death on 4-30-04 until 30 minutes ago.

What the fuck?1/8th mile?

Posted by: Grape Ape

At least you can aim for a better 1/8th mile than mine.

But don't worry... I plan to DEVISTATE that mark when time permits. That may be awhile, but such is life. Just like the guy wanting to go 1/8th instead of the 1/4 mile. Hopefully he'll lose enough business that he'll see the light in short order. No doubt, insurance is much less expensive at 1/2 track! Good luck with your quest.

Hell yeah, that 1/8th mile time is gonna be ancient history!

I know you'll go out and run deeeep in the 9's all day long, and eventually work your way to ludicrous speed!

"When it comes to be the soothing light at the end of your tunnel...Is just a freight train comin' your way..."

dammit.

I just spent a freaking fortune on 28" tall tires for the Cobra and the GT to keep them in 4th gear through the traps. I hope this dude gets his head out of his ass pretty damn quick, or momma's gonna' end up missing a husband, a car trailer and an Excursion!

But oh, it will be pricey when she finds all that!

And all this time I thought he was shooting for 8.50's in the 1/8th?

Hey Jamey, Load that bad boy up and Haul it down to Houston, See what she'll do at sea level

She needs some suh-spinn-shun like a mofo!

On motor in Amarillo, it's pretty straight...on a 100 shot, I bet I drove a 1/4 mile in the 1/8th.

Needs an adj. rear sway bar from Team Z Motorsports!!!
