Got a ride in a fast Mitsubishi on Friday

It took me from Nashville to St. Louis in 45 minutes. It was a MU-300. There were 4 of us on board, and two of them were flying the plane. I went up there for a business meeting and it was awesome. We missed all the security at the airport, all the hassle of parking, etc., landed at a small airport within sight of downtown, got picked up by a limo in St. Louis and bingo, got our job done.

On the return flight, we just sat there and drank beer. The pilot said after he dropped us off in St. Louis, they flew all the way to Houston to pick some people up, took em to Washington DC, and then made a beeline back to get us. I was standing on the runway watching when they touched down. They took on a hundred gallons of Jet A and we were off.

Pretty cool, even though this is far from the fastest or coolest available. It's what we took due to the fact that two of us needed to be up there on short notice. With air fare being like it is, including the hotel cost it would have taken us, the short notice commercial fares were almost the same, and we saved ourselves the hassle of a hotel stay and dinner too.

The pilot said this thing was a 390-mph ride, certainly not the fastest, but hey, going with a faster plane might have saved us six minutes on that flight.

I hope they build a better plane than their cars!

Samething as a BeachJet 400. Nice little ride. Bet I could break it though...

Somewhere I thought I heard they were actually built by Ratheon.

Yeah I know, same thing that bombed Pearl Harbor, and I was thinking that when I was looking out at the wing. Anyway it was a nice ride and it got us up and back, for around $2700

You can't beat private planes.

My Dad's Super King Air 200 is in a pre-buy inspection right now in Kansas City. He's got a '77 Rockwell Commander 700 for sale as well.

His new toy is a brand new shiny Cessna...stand by for pics...

They flew out of town to Cape Coral/Fort Myers, Florida and made it in 2 hrs. 15 min!!! The King Air got us there in 4 hours:15 min, and I thought that was fast!

Hey merc, nice White Zombie quote in your sig, dude!

Hey VettKllr, what kind of Cessna you talking bout? My uncle used to do some flying back in the day. I logged a ton of hours in a Cessna 172, pretty much learned to fly in the thing. Did several flights from Albuquerque to Clovis and back mostly on my own. Man I havent flown in a while. Need to start doing it again. Hopefully when I finish school I can start on getting my Private license.

I think it's a Citation Bravo. I'll get some info on it tomorrow.

Get your private license and come get this Rockwell!

That's pretty cool, how you can type in the N-number on an FAA registry and pull all that up.

I like the Caddy and Chevy/GMC in your pic there Vettklr! Atleast someone knows what to look for when reliability counts!

Posted by: GMR

Sounds goods! Never flown a twin before.

A King Air is a great plane, like a Ferrari in the air, but the only problem is that drone of noise and vibration from the props. There's nothing like the smooth power of a twin engine jet

I'd still like to have one of these as my 'private plane'.

Minus the earflaps!

That's my Mom's Caddy and a dude I work with's GMC...I'm just kinda worried now after Markus' post...I'll see if I can come up with something funny after I warn my parents to get out of that Cessna deal and get the King Air back

Well here’s a set of engines for ya, sheesh! Talk about a “flying boat”.

I always liked the Grumman Goose, for being able to get into tight places and having “lots of power”. Look at that thing climbing up the friggin rocks, ha ha.

How’s this for an old aircraft with modern power, whoooo hoooooo! Nice conversion, eh?

Widegeons are kick-ass!

Nice pic, that one has upgraded power too.
