Its a TON quieter then that piece of crap tremec 3550 that the guy tried to sell me. I wasn't very happy with the service but nonetheless it's in there.

First talked to them, they said no prob, "bring it in wednesday morn and you can pick it up that evening". I was like cool. I get it there and head home. Now since its a about an hour away I call a little early before I head that way to pick it up to see how much money I need to bring em. They say its not done yet call back in about an hour ... later, call back ... later, call back , til finally they say "well he's still working on it, and won't be done tonight but it'll be done no later then 11am the next day". I'm like okay. Next day I call early, again, same reason so I could see how much damage it was going to be. "Well it looks like it will be almost noon so just call us a little later". Now keep in mind I have to have a ride to take me there so I can pick up my car but my ride (good ole Mom) has to be back in town by 2pm. So I get her to take me over there and we get there about 11:30 or so and he is like oh well it's not done come back at about 3pm. I quickly tell him I am going to have to hang out since my ride has to leave back for Lakeland. Hes like oh. I mention to him, that is unless you aren't going to be done with it today.... he says oh yea it'll be done today. Well to make a long story short I was able to drive hom around 6pm about $1000 more then we had originally talked about. Naturally I needed more parts then discussed

Really though I am happy with it and glad I had them do it. At least the Bellhousing is indexed and some clerancing done on it.

Here is a list of what was finally done.
- Lakewood B/H indexed and clearanced
- Billet steel flywheel
- ARP flywheel bolts, clutch bolts
- Ram 900 series clutch
- New clutch fork
- Release bearing and Pilot bearing
- Shifter Handle
- Speedo gear
- Aluminum D/S
- Driveshaft Spacer

I bought a new quadrant and cable also but I will install that along with the new clutch pedal assembly on monday. I also had to buy a 94-95 MT computer because an automatic computer wants to make your car shift and in doing so makes it hesitate a split second. I told them to install a Polyurethane trans mount but didn't see it on the invoice and I havn't looked so I may have to buy another one and give the guy back this one if they didnt replace it. Lastly, I will have to buy a new "clutch fork pivot ball/stud" ?? to put back into his old bellhousing since they didn't have another and was going to wait on FORD to send them one

Sounds like I am really bitching but nah its all part of it but I was a little frustrated... Hell tell me it will take 3 days then when it takes 1 or 2 then Im happy!

So be warned Now that I have the tremec I dont have to worry about my 200 fwhp breaking it

Now, go give Jay some hell in his Trailblazer!!!

Done is done. As long as you're not mad about it. Seems expensive though(about the $1,000 more). You'll enjoy that trans though, no doubt.

Terry, did anybody show up last night? Sorry I didn't make it out there. I'll get out there soon! Also... When are you going to take it to the track?

Trailblazer power!

Somehow I missed this post but Yes and No. I was told 9pm then later next day or two I PMed the guy and he said about 10 people showed up but that was about 10pm (which is when he showed up I am guessing) I couldn't have stayed long since I had to work the next morning.

On to the Tremec subject... (didn't quite intend on rambling this much but there is plenty of Drama to go around!)

Jay, I had John Russell (blue coupe), on the phone with me when I called PBF about coming to pick up my car (I had him on the phone because he was the one going to take me to pick the car up Wednesday and I wanted him to hear for himself what time I needed to pick up the car.. he was being impatient) Anyway the guy started talking to me about the parts that were in it (Robs Tremec and parts) and started asking me who put in the bellhousing, I said well we (Rob and I). He was like oh... I said but we just bolted it in but it came out of his (his=Rob) car, he had someone install it for him. The guy at PBF said, Well this thing is junk, whoever put installed it in his car Fu**ed this thing up. He said the Dowel pin holes have been wallered (is this really a word!) and cut all to hell... this thing would never pass tech. (its or was a Lakewood SFI approved B/H). I was like okay then we moved to the next subject. The tranny. We talk a bit about it and he tells me the tailshaft shows signs of warpage like it has a whip in it. (not exact words) Basically saying its showing wear that isn't good, from reading the driveshaft. I asked how did the car sound before you started on it, he says that he didn't drive it but the mechanic said it made all kinds of crazy noise and vibration was very bad in it. He didn't say too much about the clutch & P/P. I loaded everything up brought it back home and Monday I had spent the day installing the new clutch pedal assembly, quadrant, cable, shifter boot (the rubber one) and the leather one with my new shifter nob. Yesterday I gathered everything together in a box but noticed I was missing the 3.73 speedo gear so I called PBF (I was billed for a new one for my gears). The guy said he would look, I called later and he talked to the mech. and had said the one in the old tremec was trashed, something about it was the white gear and it wasn't the correct gear to use and the teeth were messed up on it. He offered to hold it for hte next time I came in he would show me. Was there anything he was trying to sel me that was any good?!! sheesh

The more I talked to them the more glad I was I didn't let him talk me into thinking that was all normal for a tremec.

Rob went so far as to "call tremec, desribe the noise" then call me back and tell me it was normal. He left the msg.. Well, instead of relying on friends who are trying to sell you something (speaking of himself), or listening to people who some say they know everything (the two guys who heard it and said it wasn't right), I called tremec and blah blah they said it was normal.

Well yea if you tell them, it's a little whining they will say that I am sure... lol

anyway just thought you may want to hear the latest gossip and drama on the Tremec ordeal.

Since the new pedal assembly, quadrant and cable the clutch pedal feels even that much better. (alot more smooth)

Tell Rob that I said to go suck on a big fat one!

i just did a 5 speed swap on my 96. i put in a tremec 3550. it is normal for the tremec to whine a little, but not too much. sounds like you need to stay away from that rob asswipe.
