Well, a lot of the guys in this area are getting faster and faster, so I decided it was time to put the NX back on the car.

I've got some 28X10.5" ET Drags on my car now, and they were having all kindsa' hell trying to hook!!!
I made 3 passes on the spray...
1st pass, it was sputtering, so I let off early.
2nd pass was a 7.23 @ 99 (Stupid BS eighth mile track.) I think I short shifted 2nd on that one, I'm not for sure. All I know was shit was happening waaaaay too fast!
3rd pass was a 1.5 60ft, wheels up launch. As soon as I got past the 60' mark, the car started spinning like crazy, drifting to the middle of the track.
I don't have a posi anymore, I spooled it. This thing's a whole different animal now!!! I had to shut down before I killed myself!
I forgot how insane this nitrous is! I thought the cam I have in my car wasn't going to like the spray, but it sure felt like a bullet to me! I've never been in anything this fast, so I gotta' get out there and practice, practice, practice!!! I've got my mind set on a 10.4 1/4 mile pass, but I think it's gonna be faster than that when I get all this figured out!
I think it's time to install that cage that's been sitting in my garage right beside that driveshaft loop.

SWEET!
I'll bet when you get it to hook and go straight, it searches for better ET's than 10.40's. You'll only see better times as you get used to it.
I think you'll net a huge gain by getting the cage in. That's the only reason I was able to control my car. Even with the added control(if you could call it that) of NOT using slicks, my car would instantly shift the rears right and as it seemed to straighten up, I changed gears and fought it all over again. In 3rd, it went straight like an arrow with only a bit of steering. Good luck with it, and HANG ON!

Nice! Now take that thing to a sea level 1/4 mile track!

Update....
Check this crazy shit out...(Car #83)

So, does this get me into the number one spot yet???

I think it should, at very least for the 1/8th mile. Equated, it's clearly going to be a better 1/4 mile ET than my listed best. You hardly beat my mph though, even with a .3 second advantage to the 60' mark. That surprizes me, but oh well. You did get me by almost 1.5mph though.
Looks like my car might be back on the track soon after the FFW at Gainesville. Waited too long to get ready for the event itself. Standby though, on accounta I'm going for 10.30's on motor and hope to spray the day I take it out. 305hp total.
If it doesn't go 8's and nothing else goes wrong, I'll up the ante to as high as 450, but I think I'm SCURRED of that!

Yeah, that's @ the Smokin' Amarillo Dragway!!!
I'm looking at a little sumsin sumsin to make more power this weekend. I'll give the details later, I don't wanna' jinx it!
To put this into perspective, I'll tell you what the other cars are...
X205 is a fully tubbed 71 Firebird with a solid roller 477 c.i. or so BBC motor breathing through a Dominator carb.
Car 84 is whitefastpony's 92 notchback that packs a 302, TrickFlow Intake Heads, Cam, Intake, all the EFI goodies, an S-Trim blower and 26 X10 slicks
O'Doyal Rules!!!

Man that is cool, I wish I was closer to texas so I could check it out.

Thanks man, but I think I screwed something up.
Last time I put her on the trailer, it was good to go. The next time she came off, she was backfiring through the exhaust like crazy.
I've looked over everything up top except the plug wires, and they're next.

Thats too bad man, sorry to hear that. Go ahead and crate that 408 up, and send it to me before you have to fool with it anymore and get stressed out. Starting from scratch is the way to go, yea, thats it
