Its a shame that this very important day in history is hardly recognized. I think that today should be declared a national holiday. That being said, Thank you to all WW2 vets and families.

My grandfather was there on the first DDay and this is the first one he didn't live to see. RIP Edward Latham, US Army, 4th Infantry. Famous 4th!

many people never even made it to the beach. Omar Bradley said "every man was a hero". Omaha Beach took 50% casualties, 10,000 Americans died that day. It's estimated 4000 to 9000 Germans died. I don't know how many Canadians, Aussies and Brits died that day, but it was "grasping the rosebush without fear of the thorns" as Winston Churchill said (in so many words or less)

Today we have a bunch of meek weenies in France and Germany begrudginly admitting we saved the world, we sure as hell saved their worlds, look at the freedome the Germans have these days. Look at the Freedom the French have, they can still speak French too, those bastards.

Just a note: I mean no slam to anyone of French heritage, because the French helped us win our independence from England. It's their recent politics I detest, not the French people.

P, 359 canadian souls were lost on D-Day but you guys took the shitty end of the stick on that day. 6000 U.S. troops died.

Lest we forget.
