Well i raced a neon(the story is posted in the kill forum)

And had a chat with the guy... Aparently he is in a Car Club.. he said the only domestics are his neon and another neon(VP of the clubs car)
he told me i should definantly show up to the next meeting.... which is happening this wednesday so... I will go take some pics and post them... He said i could probably join, because i have a turbo. I will see if there are any nice cars there, I might(most likely not) join if there arent any completely riced out pos's..

I wonder what exactly one does in a car club?

You put Car Club stickers on your car. Then what happens, when you race, is YOUR sticker draws HP from the other cars with the car club stickers, giving you a temporary HP increase. It's kinda like having VTEC.

I've often wondered that same thing. Probably just what we do on here, talk about cars / make fun of people / etc. You know, the usual Pit routine.

the way my cousins tried to explain it to me, because they're in www.geocities.com/wicked_visions2002

"It's to do things as a group, and try to be known"

and they try and get discounts on parts and such for being in a club, depending on what the club is about....

But why do that when you can just do group buys on stuff with message boards? Some boards have a whole forum for group buys.

Good question, but in the areas where clubs conjugate, it makes it a bit easier with local businesses and the fact, businesses can use the clubs for promotional purposes, depending on the club....ex: Car shows, swap meets, and anything pertaining to the organizations...

I think the majority of these clubs are for poser morons. some of the stupidest shit i have ever seen has come from the car clubs around here.

that is definitely true, why many don't last and the die-hard clubs do....

I think it depends on the club. I'm a member of the J-Body Club of Ontario and only J-bodies are allowed. Its fun to get together and talk about cars, meet new friends, have car shows and just hang out with LIVE people unstead of only talking to them over the internet. Its nice to see what some people come up with on their cars. Some is rice, some is not. Its really a good time.

I often wish all of us at The Pit lived closer together so we could hang out once in awhile. You never really know a person until you meet them face to face.
