blow through turbo? (again!)

So i have a blow through turbo on a carburator intake side. If a carb sucks fuel in because of the pressure drop going across the venturi. how would i go about putting fuel in the engine under boost? could i add fuel pressure and make it work?

Somehow sending fuel into a turbo does not sound too good. Normally, you want the air to be cool, through an intercooler, and I've never heard of sending fuel through an intercooler. The carb needs to be on the pressure side of the turbo, not the suction side.

Turbochargers are HOT, as in FRIGGING HOT EXHAUST GAS. Therefore, any air or air/fuel mix coming off a turbo is going to be hot too, and with fuel in the air, it sounds like a fire waiting to happen.

Where's Matt?????

yeah p, thats what i meant by blow thru- in a blow thru the pressure is on a carb. you are talking about a draw thru, and that is basically shit...

to clarify what i asked. A carburator works by the pressure drop across the venturi. well, in my opinion, if the pressure drop is from 0psi to -2psi, it will flow a set amount of fuel. so reasoning suggests that a pressure drop from 10psi to 8psi should yeild the same amount of fuel metered, as long as the fuel pressure and boost pressure is the same? if that is the case, i could adjust it a little richer on top end and still get the correct amount of fuel?

If you run a carb hat, that seals the entire carb, it should function properly, I think.

Here is a good source of turbo tech. http://www.turbomustangs.com/forums....php?forumid=13
They're obviously Mustang oriented, but alot of good info is gonna crossover. Good Luck!

You need a fuel pressure regulator that increases fuel pressure per pound of boost.

Aeromotive sells one. I remember seeing that one in my Summit catalog.

fucking A merc! that site is awesome. those guys arent stuck up assholes at all, from what i read, even if you dont own a mustang they answer your questions all the same! unlike those pricks over at the sy/ty boards. the assholes there will not give the time of day to you unless you own a sy/ty...

rising pressure? yeah on a real car, but my application is a bit different... i'll let you guys in on it soon

EDIT: couldn't find what I was thinking of, but here's a page about different regulators.....

from what I remember... carbs use soemthing called "fuel jets" right? I know you would need a Boost Compensating Fuel Pressure Regulator to increase the fuel pressure, but you will also need larger fuel jets (or whatever they are called) in the carb because all the pressure in the world is useless if the jets are too small.
anyway, that is probably useless information cause I dont know much about carbs...

Here's what I've found out about blow through turbo setups.

1. The carb needs to have the fuel pressure increased by the same amount as the boost pressure. This isn't too hard to do by modifying a standard pressure regulator.

2. The carb will run increasingly leaner as the boost increases. It will still work but will need to be jetted for a particular boost level. I put a Holley Adjust-A-Jet kit in my carb.

3. The Holley on my Dart is screwed up beyond repair, so I haven't been able to make my blow though turbo setup run well at all under any boost level or even naturally aspirated. I'm going to replace it with EFI once I can get together the time and money.

LOL i got it now! you guys are gonna shit when you see what i am up to!
