I have a 99 Vette and can buy the listed cam for $200. Is it too much for stock heads? I know I will need new springs and retainers, anything else?

Cam Info:
228/228
.588/.588
112 LSA.

Going to the track tonight so I will ask around there also.

Definitly gonna need tuning with that cam and some stronger pushrods if you dont already have them. And yes you will also need springs and retainers.

Single Pattern? Wouldnt it be better to get somthing with a little more duration on the exhaust? Say somting like 228/232-238 range?

I had the LS6 cam in my SS and it was pretty good for a sleeper cam. If I had it to do over, I would go BIGGER!

usually you wont need to replace your stock heads unless you go with an aggressive cam like a 240/238 with a low LSA. and you usually dont need to replace the retainers.

Trying to understand all the numbers. For a 228/228 .588/.588 112 LSA cam. The 228/228 is the angle that the cam starts to open the valves (Intake then Exhaust)? The second numbers are the actual lift of the cam (Intake then Exhaust)? As for the LSA I am not going there yet.

228/228 is the amount of duration the cam has, or how long the valves are open for(228 degrees).
LSA is the amount of movement between the intake at its maximum lift point and the exhaust at its maximum lift point.
