OK, I've been looking and there are stores in Rome, Cartersville and East Ellijay. I have a feeling the one in Ellijay is probibly really tiny. So, not much chance of transfering there.

So, its most likly rome or cartersville. Probibly whichever has an opening first.
Evil, whats the terrain like around rome-cave springs? Are the mountains close? Also, what is the weather like in the winter? Does it snow alot?

Cave springs looks really small, do you have to drive to rome whenever you need anything besides beer? How are the other towns around there?

Has anyone been to cartersville? How is it there? Does bartow county have emissions testing? Do any of you guys live near there?

Damn I'm full of questions. Basically I haven't been to that part of GA since I was 8 or so and went to a cabin my family had up near blueridge. I'd like to be close to the mountains so I can go camping, hiking hunting etc... Also, I'd like some nice twisty roads to cruise on.

Anything else I need to know?

Ellijay is a really nice town. I was just there this past June and go every year while I'm in NC. It's right at the edge of the mountians.

Elijay is really nice. thats where alot of people buy the little mountain homes and rent them out.

Bartow county does not have emissions. I used to live in cartersville and it was nice. there is also a Lowe's in the Woodstock area off of hwy 92. which is east of me, and elijay is about 30-60 minutes north of that.

IMO, Mike, you should go visit that area for about a week or so, and see how you like it, before you go and move! Stay in a motel or rent a cabin for a week and see how you like it. I could help you find a place in Murphy if you'd like? It would probably run you about $400 for a week in a cabin though, so maybe a motel would be better? Murphy NC is only about 45 minutes or so from Elijay.

I could take a few days off if I transfer, but I can't take a week off from where I'm at now.
