What can I expect with a stock Corvette.

I have a 99 MN6 Corvette with the following Blackwing Filter, B&M Ripper, Raptor shift light. and BFG TA DR's out back. So to date my best is a 12.88 in the 1320'. I think I may be able to get another .15 lower with a good run. So the question is, have I hit the wall and its time for some engine or gear mods?

Theres plenty more boltons you can do before doing any engine mods. LT headers, catback & intake should get you low to mid 12s. Then do gears and you'll be damn near 11s w/o lifting a valve cover.

Some nice cool fall weather will knock off a tenth or two also.

Has anyone had experience with JBA headers? I just saw that JBA has come out with a LT for the C5 at 750.00 per set. I may see about getting these for the next mod.

Just found Kooks LT's for almost the same price as the JBA's, so now I am thinking about the Kooks also. Anyone have Kooks headers?

Kooks Headers are ultra-nice. If you can get a good deal on a set, grab 'em up.

I had a great outing last night

. The day was very cool in SW Ohio and the night temps where in the mid 60's

. So It hit the track, results below. Thanks for the input to date on mods and what to buy.

Run 1 60'=1.901 1/4ET=12.980 1/4MPH=107.99

, I was happy, Time 5:40

Run 2 60'=1.871 1/4ET=12.755 1/4MPH=109.45

,Even happier. Time 7:08

Run 3 60'=1.808 1/4ET=12.582 1/4MPH-110.03

, Damn Giddy at this point time 9:12

Best of all I was up agianst S/C 01 Mustang GT that was running 12.6's. So I was Psycho crazy on the launch, hey it worked.

So the only performance mods you've done so far are a shifter and drag radials right? Thats an amazing time for a basically stock C5! With headers, a cutout and gears I bet it goes 11s! LS1 POWER!

with a 12.58. I was so happy I almost slept in the garage with my car last night. I had another MMC member with me last night (Bird of Prey) and he was running pretty good. After a good tune he will be approaching the 11 second barrier.

I have to hand a ricer an ATTA BOY. The guy has a Talon with 23LBS of boost and turning 12.30's.

I never raced until last year when Bird Of Prey took me to the track. now I am hooked. I hope everyone would give it a try, its a blast...
