Uhhh, hey look at thaaaat, willya??

I had a buddy back when Mazda was building the RX-4 (try and find one of those on the street these days), and the damn thing had a stock factory tach that would blow an alarm if you over-revved. He's tear-ass around town blowing the alarm on every shift when he had a few beers in him, it was a riot.

My dad has owned more rotary powered Mazda's than most people have ever seen. He used to have numerous RX-2s and RX-3s, later an RX-5 (impossible to find) and about a half dozen 7s over the years. He started autocrossing with the SCCA way back in the day when it was practically new.

When you were driving a rotary powered Mazda autocrossing, the rule of thumb was to downshift whenever the overrev buzzer went off! Yes, downshift. If the buzzer wasn't on, you simply weren't in the power range. The old 12As and 12Bs lived forever with this sort of abuse.

What the hell is a fuel ration gauge anyway? Is that some sort of fucked up way for saying tank level?

Does that A/F guage come with an O2 sensor? I would think it would come with a wideband.

Not sure just how fast this thing was, but it sure was fun slamming it around with him. Not many of em left these days.

no vacuum reading on the boost gauge, eh?

Rotaries are sweet....I'd like to have one of the old Suzuki rotary motorcycles. About 500cc with about 30hp, it'd be a good conversation piece if nothing else...
