High Speed and an Unknow Sound?

I was racing against some new honda in my 72 caprice 454cid 4 barrel carter750 cfm carb going around 130 my speedometer stops at 120, and i can reach this speed with out opening up the secondarys, but when I do open up the secondarys theres the sound of gobs of air being sucked into my intake but if I hold the pedal to the floor, somtimes I hear a real high winnding sound, some one toldl me im pushing my car tell the valves start to float. I beat the honda but worry about this turbo like sound. 107,000miles, tight th400, recent tune up.

some carbs are extremely noisy at high rpms.... my freind had a 347 in a thunderbird with real stealth exhaust on it.... when it'd get up around 6500 rpm you could hear the carb... real weird.. car ran 12.40's in a 4200 lb car w/ no traction.

ya it sounds kindda cool i dont know if its good or bad because it really doesnt seem to move me any faster i think my system is fine so im probley just to picky.
