Damn credit cards are the devil.

I just ordered a new cam, springs, pushrods, LS6 intake, 28.8lb injectors, and some of those new M/T drag radials.

I forgot the exact specs on the cam but I believe it was something like .230/.232 .590/.595 112. Anyway, the guy at Race Tech says that with my other mods it should put me up around 380-390 RWHP. It'll be dyno-tuned after the install so we'll see.

Hopefully it'll go low 11s with just the cam and intake. A little later I'll get some better heads and shoot for 10s N/A with heads & cam.

I decided to try the new M/T drag radials instead of another set of ET streets b/c the bias ply tires make my car feel loose on the big end. It should trap a little higher with the radials too. I just hope they'll hook.

Can't wait to go drag racing this fall!

Damn, should be fast!

Good deal man! Hope drag radials work! I don't think I have ever seen a set actually hook up!

I've heard the new MT sticks pretty well at the track, and that's where it counts. Good luck.

I've heard the same thing Grape. I'll let you know for sure real soon!

Sweet! My friend SilverZ went 11.50@120 in his '98 Z the other day on Nittos! It was also in the mid 90's! His mods... B1 cam, Macs, lid, cutout, Vig 3600 stall and a dry 100 shot! I think he'll see 10's in good air with slicks. He didn't hit the nitrous utill about the 60ft mark.

Hey werent you just workin on getting those things payed off?
Shame Shame Evil hehe, j/k. Hell, if I had a credit card, Id been in some serious debt. Ive managed to hold off on gettin one.
Anyways, sounds like a very good combo of mods. I hear those M/T DRs hook like a mofo
Good luck man!

Ordered some more goodies.

Stage 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, larger TB & hurst line lock.

Posted by: MikeT

shooting for 10's eh?

Posted by: GMR

Damn Evil, that thing keeps getting meaner and meaner.
Before long youll have to put a cage in it.

LS

Posted by: EvilLS1

It should run low 11s with the new heads. But yeah, I plan to have it deep into the 10s by this time next year. Next on the list is a cage and a little go juice.

I've seen cars running single digit ETs with no cage at Steele. They don't even have tech inspection there. I still plan to get one though, so I can race at other tracks.

Sure wish that were true at a track near me. Of course, these days I'd be happy to simply HAVE a track near me! Oh well.

Momentary change of subject: Evil, you got plans for Dec. 19th? I hear there's gonna be a little get together down(for you) in Valdosta. I haven't been to that track and was considering it to watch the boys(GTO and Mustang freaks) race. Since you're way up north... I just thought I'd mention it. Now back to your regularly scheduled quest for speed.

How far south of me is Valdosta? 1/8 or 1/4? I need to find another fairly close 1/4 mile track anyway b/c Steele is closed for a while due to flood damage. I dunno about December but after I get the new heads installed (early January probably) I'll need somewhere to race. I don't care for the Atlanta Dragway and Silver Dollar is too far. Theres an 1/8 mile track just a few miles from me but I'd rather drive a little further for a 1/4 mile track.

Valdosta is WAY south of you! It's near the FL border(about 25-30miles north). It'll take me about 4hrs to get there, but I think it's gonna be a BLAST, so I'm trying to plan the trip. The track is close to EXIT 32 on I-75. They have both 1/8 and 1/4 mile racing, but the answer you're looking for is 1/4 mile. Silver Dollar is much closer for you, but what a wretched location!!!

evills1....question....how much power are ya layin down now??

my cars not set up for drag racing but my cam only 2000 WS.6 hit 385/375rw untuned with a 224 c2 cam.....i like the power but with no suspension, stock rear, and street tires all i can mustar up was a 12.6@113. i guess now its only gonna get worse with the new f2 kit i installed over the winter...

Posted by: EvilLS1

Cam only it dynoed 365 rwhp right before running the 11.73@115 pass. Thats through an unlocked 3500 stall and 12 bolt rear.

Right now its under the knife again getting stage 2.5 PRC heads and a few other goodies. I'm hoping for 400+ at the wheels and low 11s at the track. Then hopefully here in a few more months I'll get a TNT kit myself and go low-mid 10s.

Those are some nice dyno numbers with a mild 224 cam! Damn M6 guys. With some sticky tires and a beefy rear end you'll be flyin'!
