Just found a 1.8 rockers for the LS1 at decent price. Question is, will a change to 1.8 (with new springs of course) be worth $550? The people are claiming 15HP at the wheels.

Why settle for 15 hp from a little more lift when you can get a good cam that will net you 40-50 rwhp for less $$?

...and unless you have the compression, manifold, piston clearance etc. to handle the bigger lift you may go slower, kill the bottom end tork, or crater a piston when the valve hits it.
Investigate before you invest, more duration will probably do more for you.

His engine is the same as mine. 10.1:1 and would have no piston to valve clearance issues with either one. But an FM13 cam (.230/.232 .595/.585 112) or the Magic Stick is worth a dyno proven 50-70 rwhp gain on our cars.

Cam is the way to go. You will be happier in the long run.
