OOOHHHHH.....The Canadian Dollar has gained a whopping 20-25 cents in the 8-1/2 years since I've been there. wow. look out. And I think a majority of that gain has to do with Cretian (or however you spell the frogs name) out of the Prime Ministers office. I don't know about other areas, but here in Nor CA, the economy is picking up nicely. 2 years ago, most of my friends and family lost their jobs due to lay-offs. I was almost one of them. Now, I don't know a single person that doesn't have a job...and ALL of my friends and family are now making MORE MONEY than they were before they got laid off! Some of them even had to turn some jobs down that were offered to them. As far as I know, every person that got laid off from the company I work for (Housing Authority) got a job within just a few months. Most of them actually came back to work here at the Housing Authority.

All my friends back in Florida are better off now than they were 6 years ago, when I left. All my family members back in NY and CT are better off now than they were just a few years ago. I'm making more than double what I was making just 5 years ago. People are still buying houses. I see dozens of brand new cars on the road every day. Tell me again about this "Recession"...

War is expensive, do you not know this?

Bailing out all the major airlines is expensive...By saving them, it helps you guys as well..We fly to Canada, you get our money..

Cleaning up the mess and providing aid to the 9-11 victums is expensive (but I guess you would rather see us do without)

Rebuildling two countries is expensive ...We could let the terrorist take over and fight them again...

The conviction of some major CEOs causes folks to be reluctant to invest in stock, this in turn gives false readings on the economy

President Bush did all this with a resessive economy that Clinton destroyed. Clinton had the absolute best eceonomy and job surge handed to him and in 8 years he totally destroyed it. He did not shore up Social Security, taxes were outrageous so what the hell did he do with his so called balance budget. He did NOT cut the deficiet and he DID NOT save social security... he gave it all a way to welfare programs.

The Nobel Peace Prize winning economist has come out and said that President Bush saved the economy and should have given a larger tax cut. Do a bit more research will ya?

I pay one guy $22 per square and he usually puts on 20 sq per day with his nail gun. Do the math X's 5 days!

All of my guys make pretty good right now. Some better than other, but it all depends on their ability to lay shingles.

$55/hour (assuming 8 hour day) is pretty damn good money, especially for Florida.

3.5 million is close when nearly 120 million vote. That said, it's still about 3.5 million more people who preferred Bush.

How much of Canada would be covered before you found 3.5 million, aside from it's largest city? Bush carried all but some 20/21 states in the end. There's FIFTY though. Jay is my backup plan. If all goes completely sour around here, Im moving to FLorida and working for him. I'm already an experienced roofer. Hey Jay, pretty good scam. Pay em $22 per square, they use a nail gun and slam em down with 2 or at best, 3 shots per piece of shingle, the wind blows again, off come the shingles, and there's more payday in the future.

Nice idea P, but not gonna happen in Florida's "hurricane central" location. They've gotta meet the 130mph wind standards to build a new home, and shingles have standards too. Build like that and you'll be outta business in a hurry. It'd be fun while it lastest, but it wouldn't last long. heh

Polk County codes right now are 4 nails per shingle. Not all of my guys are paid by the square though. You've always got to have your tear off crew. Anyone can learn how to lay shingles with a nail gun, possibly even MikeT!
