Hi there.
I have recently come across a 347R Roush engine that is being offered to me for what I think is a good deal. But when I went to the web to find out some info about it, I found almost nothing. Not even the Roush Hompage. I found one site that has some specs listed, but I was also interested in seeing other vehicles with it in and what it does for them (i.e. 1/4 mile, hp, nos, supercharged, etc.) the fun stuff. I guess it might have to do with only 1000 of them being made and only for a short time a few years back, but where did they all go? I have a 67' mustang I am thinkin about putting it in. Also if I was to put it in say a 92' Mustang, is it possible to get it smogged in California? Any info about this would be very much appreciated.
oh and here is a pic of my 67 mustang, i have more if interested....

Well anyways, (keep those rice rockets in the rear view

I found the Roush homepage and another page which shows crate engine specs but I don't see anything about a 347R. Here they are anyway. Maybe you can contact them and ask them about it.

The 347 in the old stang would be awesome, especially if you bought a 289 Hi-po decor set from California Mustang.
I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I think maybe someone has just built a 347 stroker,a nd maybe put the Roush heads on it.

Well I looked at the motor and it is an authentic 347R (One of only 1000 made) with the plate on it. So Im pretty sure it is not just the heads. I have seen some pictures of them on a website and it is the same one. This was one of the few peices of info found on the net.
Roush Industries
347R Engine
Roush provides out-of-the-box street performance with new engine
Roush Performance, the street performance arm of Roush Industries, has introduced a new engine for Ford enthusiasts that Roush claims takes all the guess work out of engine building. Called the 347R, the 347 cubic-inch V-8 produces 430 horsepower, 415 ft-lb of torque with a 9.5:1 compression ratio. The engines are designed not with true racing in mind but are instead intended for street performance and designed to run on pump gas.
Instead of an extreme combination that only makes power at high RPMs, the small block produces big power at lower RPMs. Roush says they start easily and idle aggressively, featuring plenty of low-end torque in a lightweight package.
The engine features a fully forged and balanced rotating assembly and name brand components from manufacturers including Competition Cams, JE Pistons, Melling and Edelbrock.

Not many people come to this forum, and I like this place

The general forum kinda gets overlooked. The Ford forum is more surfed, atleast by me anyway.

Here is a page mentioning the same engine. 430hp, not too bad. http://www.wcsx.com/jox/jjl/2003_01stonesoupphotos.asp

By the way, it was also in the July 2002 issue of Hot Rod.

I want their 327R , 425hp/390ft/lbs , all forged inside, runs on pump gas. That would be a sweet engine for my Stang, and add a 100 shot for extra fun.

Do you think i should post this in the ford forum? Thanx for the pic by the way.
