I went to a international GT race in Bahrain. It was freakin awesome
there was ferraris, porsches, vipers, bimmers, saleen s7,lambos and some
others. I was able to get right up on the track for about 20 min(bad
security) and the cars were going by at 150+mph so loud my ears rang the rest of the day. it was awesome! They also had a vintage class with jags, ferraris, porsches, aston martins, mgs and the beast... the car that dominated LeManns, a original 1965 ford GT-40. It had a 289 that had 425bhp. Here are some pictures...

That Coopers Ferrari won with the S7 behind it, In the vintage class its no suprise that the GT-40 won with a 61 second lead on the second place Ferrari. I had a pit pass and was talking with the GT-40 driver and he said he wasnt even trying and he could have ran 7 seconds faster per lap if he wanted. That car was amazing in action. I must own one

Awesome post. I get word, however, that I've been investigated again due to the fact that you posted on the forum again. I suspect everyone else has been investigated too. Mine was a routine touch and go, but MikeT, Ooooohhhh brother, I'll bet they paused for a while on thaaaaat file, ha ha ha.

As for the GT 40, I won't debate the fact that the 289 full race "could" put out that kind of power, but the big block that did what the small block couldn't, was putting out an even 500 (actually 499, a few more on the dyno after the race than when it started). They had the bb detuned from the NASCAR spec, in order to assure they would stay together for 24 hours.

In any case awesome event, thanks for the post. I don't mind the security checks, mind you, but it is interesting to be notified every time one happens. You guys on the other hand, won't be getting the notification, heh heh.
