Default will you give up your firearms?

If the government came for your weapons would you freely give them up?

Well I don't own a gun up here but if they gave me what I paid for them, plus a %50 inconvenience fee and a sworn promise to protect my ass from any illegal gun-toting lunatics....

Other than that I'd tell em' to fuck off....

Besides the fact that I would be giving up my last line of personal protection, I really enjoy shooting my guns. Its a hobby of mine, and I would refuse to give it up. I seriously doubt that that will happen anytime soon though.

I wouldn't. This is not really an issue and it isn't likely to be for a very long time, thanks to the Supreme Court of the United States ruling that our Constitution does state we have a right to own and bear arms. This was the end result after one brave soul not only challenged the unconstitutional Washington D.C. law banning all guns... I understand he was a working cop, too... He pushed it all the way to the top. Anyway, after 25yrs, the SCOTUS heard the case and ruled in favor of the American public, which is all too rare these days.

Even the idiots on the left, who not only control Congress and the WH, but also want to ban guns, realize that any such law they enact will be met with fierce opposition to start, then ultimately be ruled unconstitutional by our SCOTUS. Yea for America on at least 1 issue!

Honestly, I can see registering your firearms with a ONE TIME ONLY fee, being a form of gun control, but that's it. Have the registration card in your wallet/purse.

That wouldn't solve anything, It wont stop criminals from carrying unregistered, stolen fire arms with the serial numbers scratched off.

It would just be another way for government to dig a little deeper into our pockets.

Maybe I got it wrong here, but I think it would split the line between the criminals and the innocents.

ie; If your found with a registered weapon on you, it shows you as a decent, law abiding citizen. If you don't, you could arouse suspicion. Kinda like driving a car with no plates.

One of my friends bought 4 or 5 9mm receivers at a gun show last year. I am thinking about having him build me a somewhat "off the books" semi-auto rifle.

The thing is, criminals will keep guns anyway, and by any means. Theft is the #1 way criminals get guns. Through various means, they tend to recieve stolen guns constantly. Maybe it's registered to me, but perhaps wielded by a criminal... Ultimately, it's merely an additional tax which serves no purpose to anyone BUT the government.

Yeah, I hear ya. Guess, I thought something like that might make sense, but seeing how government and money don't mix....well, yeah. Up here, the 'gun culture' as I like to call it, is so much different. People who have guns are mostly hunters, farmers, and hobbyists. You never hear of anyone having one for protection other than police and hi-level security, so we don't pay much attention to it.

My brother was in Savannah Ga. I think, and he and his navy buddy got a lift back to the ship from a local guy they were having a few beers with. This guy had a Ford 4x4 done up with all the gear on it, with a confederate flag in the window. As they were going down the road, my brother asked, "You carry a gun in this thing?" Buddy reached down under the seat and pulled out a chrome polished 9mm. He then pokes it out the window pointing straight upward and empties it. My brother and his buddy were thinking, "Holy FUUUUUCK!!!" "Well we ain't in Canada no more!!!", my brother said. The guy just chuckled and kept on driving.
