What one hill billy does is not a very good representation of responsible gun owners. I will bury mine before I willingly give them up to the government. any form of registraion or licensing is just a way of finding out who has what. I know it sounds like a conspiracy whack job thought but that is just the start of severe limitation and bans. Just look at the countries that have done this and where it ended.

I must admit, I found it funny. The guy did it so nonchalantly and all.

If it says in your constitution that you have a right to bear arms, then that's the way it should be for you. Ours is obviously a little different, as we don't have a problem with guns, but that's probably also due to having %10 of the U.S. population in an area larger than the states as well. I might've said this before but, the gun problems are usually idiots shooting other idiots, and I sure hope it stays that way.

You never hear of anyone having one for protection other than police and hi-level security, so we don't pay much attention to it.

While many media sources would indicate differently, I have no doubt, the average gun owner here fits into the same categories as those in Canada. Most "city folks" don't own guns, though millions do. I have yet to meet a farmer who didn't own at least one. Most I know have mutliple guns.

My brother was in Savannah Ga. I think, and he and his navy buddy got a lift back to the ship from a local guy they were having a few beers with. This guy had a Ford 4x4 done up with all the gear on it, with a confederate flag in the window. As they were going down the road, my brother asked, "You carry a gun in this thing?" Buddy reached down under the seat and pulled out a chrome polished 9mm. He then pokes it out the window pointing straight upward and empties it. My brother and his buddy were thinking, "Holy FUUUUUCK!!!" "Well we ain't in Canada no more!!!", my brother said. The guy just chuckled and kept on driving.

In GA, I think I can believe that story...

While I won't simply empty mine for fun while driving on public roads, I think it's a great idea to carry. Law abiding citizens here have no problems with that. And honestly, I don't even find it bothersome that the knucklehead emptied his on the roll, provided he was "in the sticks" when he didso. I don't want people doing that on busy local roads, of course, but in the country, I don't care.

Default This says it all about LIBS and gun control.

Looks like it took about three weeks to surface & start making the email rounds. another one we didn't see on the National News....Wonder Why ?
See link to story below. This NC Democrat State Senator is a die hard anti gunner. He has voted for every anti gun bill that has crossed his desk, but when someone invaded his house, he picked up a gun for self defense.
Hypocrites! See another news article below the link.

Aug 24, 2009
Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74,
shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor
City, N.C.. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the
politician's home county said.

The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital,
but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according
to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen and
Brunswick counties.

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's

Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles,

who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

"I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone.

"I'm right in the middle of an investigation."

Soles, a top-ranking Democrat and the longest-serving member of
the legislature, already was the subject of an SBI investigation over
sexual misconduct allegations with former male clients.

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership
for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own
gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim..

In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do As I Say And Not As I Do"
Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action

in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you

may ask? It is because his long legistlative record shows that the

actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a

dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary

citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.

It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and
personal safety are far more valuable than yours or mine..
But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our
lives, manage our money, raise our kids, and protect our families
better than we can.

Honestly, that isn't surprising at all.....

It's the same reason taxes keep screaming upwards.... these same people think they know better what to do with our money than we do.

It's why they want gov't run healthcare. There is too much money in that pool and they can manage it better, and besides they know what we need for healthcare more than we do.

Big brother is alive and well.....

Do ya honestly think it's a fair comparison? Australia is much "younger" than America and, as such, is far less populated. I suspect, though I haven't looked for figures, fewer people live in Aussie land than and just the top 10 American cities combined. That's 10 cities vs an entire continent... Not really comparable. All of America has over 300 million and I'm pretty certain all of Australia has fewer than 25 million. That's like 12 times more people in America. Do we also have 12 times more death by murder? Idonno, but considering we do allow guns, I suspect fewer Americans are killed by baseball bats than guns. Just the same, people who want to kill other people have always found a way to kill other people. Banning guns is never the correct answer when one considers that simple fact on its face, let alone all the others involved.

Besides, we can look at Washington D.C. alone, right here inside America. It's long been one of our "most dangerous" cities and, until this year(by the grace of God), guns had been banned for over 25yrs. Now that guns have been allowed again, the murder rate has already markedly dropped from what I've heard. Why? Because criminals now DON'T KNOW who might "kill 'em back" and with that, they take on fewer victims. D.C. has led our nation in gun crimes many times over the past 3 decades, even though guns were illegal for most of that time. This lends truth to the statement, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

In the end, we don't much care what other countries choose to do within their borders, provided the citizens at large actually made the choice. We know from our own statistics, guns promote LESS violence, so long as the CRIMINALS know that non-criminals are allowed to carry them. Either this yr or last, we had a criminal open fire in a fast-food joint(in Florida) and when it was over, a legally carrying Floridian shot and killed the perp... Had that not happened, more innocent victims would surely have been lying dead on the floor.

Another important factor you possibly never considered... MOST, if not all shooting deaths in America happen for only 1 of three reasons. #1, the shooting was an accident. #2, the shooting was done by a CRIMINAL, not just an angry law abiding citizen. #3, the shooting was done in self-defense(defence).

It was actually easier to get my rifle into Australia than it was to get it back out. However while I was there there were several shooting on the news. For a country that claims that removing handguns from the public (there are ways to legally own them still, or at least at the time I was there) prevents crime, they sure did have some issues. Every shooting that was reported on involved a handgun. I met several people while I was there that had managed to retain a handgun because they were able to prove an "need" for one. They also did not leve anywhere near a city.
